Mechanical Engineering

Harry Hogan
Associate Professor and Undergraduate Coordinator

What that really means:
I teach classes in mechanical engineering, do research on bone biomechanics, and help with the operations of the Undergraduate Program and Academic Advising Office of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. I can help with questions about our curriculum, about admission to our program, and even try to explain the answers to the two most difficult questions I face: "What is mechanical engineering?" and "What do mechanical engineers do?"

Best advice for prospective students:
Visit campus and our department for an information session and a lab tour. Try to learn about the different engineering disciplines and majors, but do not fret about the choice as an incoming freshman. The first year is quite similar for all engineering majors and it is not uncommon for students to change majors early on.

Favorite Aggie tradition:
Muster

Must-see on campus:
The view from the top row of seats in Kyle Field. Or the Rec Center.

Little-known fact about me:
I like rats! They help me so much with my bone research.
