Kelly Essler '00
Senior Academic Advisor
What that really means:
I am the go-to girl when it comes to any questions about our department, the university and other questions you may have about college. When you get to Texas A&M, I will become your best friend, fast. We'll chat all of the time about classes, professors and all the different resources you have available to you here!
Best advice for prospective students:
Start preparing early! That means taking the classes that help you prepare for classes in engineering, attend conferences and summer camps put on by the Dwight Look College of Engineering and come visit our department! We want to meet you and help guide you in this exciting process! Of course, always remember it's better to apply early to Texas A&M University. Engineering is a popular field and the college fills up fast!
Favorite Aggie tradition:
What tradition don't I like? Tradition is one of the main reasons I came to Texas A&M! I’m a diehard Aggie football fan and love that everyone says "Howdy!" to you on campus, but my all-time favorite tradition is Aggie Muster. To see the power and effect the Aggie network has by remembering former students is amazing!
Must-see on campus:
Be sure to always come see me in my office, 215A Zachry. Also, you will want to visit Kyle Field, especially on a Saturday during the fall, the Memorial Student Center and Sully for good luck!
Little-known fact about me:
I am terrified of haunted houses and roller coasters. Be sure to ask me why sometime!
